FundraisingTo make sure every minute counts for our patients and their relatives St Columba's Hospice needs your help. All of St Columba's services are provided to patients free of charge - but the services still have to be paid for, largely through donations and fundraising activities. Because of its high staff to patient ratio, Hospice care is expensive. The annual cost of running St Columba's Hospice topped the £5million mark some time ago - these costs are now approaching £5.7 million. In the coming year, NHS Lothian will give us a grant of £2.4 million but we need your help to raise the £3.3 million that will allow us to continue the Hospice's essential work. The good news is - there are lots of ways for you to help. Please contact fund@stcolumbashospice.org.uk or call 0131 551 7707 if you would like to discuss how you can support us. To sponsor our current runners/walkers or to set up your own fundraising page please visit our sponsor site - www.stcolumbas.workwithus.org Autumn NewsletterScotland's Gardens SchemeScotland's Gardens Scheme facilitates the opening to the public of large and small gardens of horticultural interest throughout Scotland. Very few are accessible to the public at any other time. As we approach Spring and Summer it would be a wonderful fundraising opportunity for our supporters who have beautiful gardens to open to the public - 40% of all the monies raised would come to the Hospice, 60% would go to Scotland's Garden Scheme's beneficiaries. For further information checkout the Scotland's Gardens Scheme website at www.gardensof scotland.org
