Five-a-side Charity Football TournamentSaturday 1st November 2008, World of Football, Edinburgh Corn Exchange Sponsored by Play where the pros play. With state of the art 5-a-side football pitches join us to play under a glass roof and forget about the climate on a cold November day! Up to 30 teams compete for the championship. Burns Supper and Ceilidh 200923rd January 2009, Corn Exchange, Edinburgh The 2009 Burns supper will be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Burns and we are planning an evening of drama and singing along with the traditional Burns banter. We welcome back Margo MacDonald MSP to host the evening and the Da Hooley Ceilidh band who will keep everyone on their toes until 2.00am making this an action packed and very special night. Tickets are £38.50 per person. Tables are sold in groups of ten or individual tickets can be purchased which are then combined into tables of 10. A big thank you to our sponsors for hosting this event. On a glorious Autumnal afternoon sixty guests attended and helped generate income of £5,000 for the Hospice. NVT sponsored the second race which together with our publicity stand and exit collection helped raise the profile of the Hospice among the 3,000 racegoers. Fun Run 21st September 2008Over 150 runners joined us for our third annual run in Victoria Park. We hope to have raised over £8,000 for the Hospice. More figures and photos to follow soon - in the meantime a big thank you to all our runners. Please remember the closing date for returning sponsorship is Friday 17th October. KPMG Race Evening at Tiger Lilly, Edinburgh on Thursday 28sth AugustMany thanks to Claudia and Anne of the events team at KPMG for planning a fantastic evening. The Race Night raised £3,781.50 for St Columba's. Thank you to all the KPMG staff and their guests who supported the races, raffle and auction. Art Friends ExhibitionOver the past 21 years leading professional artists, jewellers and sculptors have exhibited their work, which together with your support, has raised approximately £285,000 for the Hospice. The 22nd Annual exhibition was held in the Freemason Hall, 96 George Street, Edinburgh from 5th to 7th June and over £18,749 was raised for the Hospice. Many thanks to all the volunteers and artists for all their hard work.Wits Dinner Prestonfield, Edinburgh 24th April 2008.An evening of humour, raconteur and WIT. After a reception drink followed by a sumptuous three course meal guests were treated to an exciting line up of speakers - Rachel Coul, John Chalmers, John O'Neill and Kenny Clark. This year's topic was "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" and after a close run vote the WIT's cup was awarded to Kenny Clark.The 2008 dinner raised in excess of £18,000 for St Columba's Hospice. This would not have been possible without the support of; Willie Hunter our chair and auctioneer for the evening; The Royal Bank of Scotland; James Thomson of Prestonfield; all our donors who contiributed elimination game, raffle and auction prizes and our table hosts and their generous guests who bid so charitably in our auction.
'BARK IN THE PARK''
Sponsored Dog Walk Sunday 13th April 2008Over £6,000 was raised by all the participants who took part in the event. Sponsorship from A1 Pets ,Dofos and Batchelor, Davidson and Watson Vetinary Surgeons also ensures that all the money raised from the event goes directly to the Hospice. Special thanks to Shirley Tedford who raised over £500 and was awarded a £50 gift voucher for Dofos. A big thank you to all our walkers who helped make this such a succesful event.
