Art Friends ExhibitionOver the past 21 years leading professional artists, jewellers and sculptors have exhibited their work, which together with your support, has raised approximately £285,000 for the Hospice. The 22nd Annual exhibition to be held in the Freemason Hall, 96 George Street, Edinburgh from 5th to 7th June will feature the work of over 100 leading artists and in additon to our regular exhibits includes a small paintings section this year to suit a variety of budgets.Don't miss this opportunity to purchase an original work from artists including;Chris Bushe/ Charlotte Cadzow/ Caroline O'Brien/ Damin Callan/ Walter Awlson/ Avril Jacques/ Helga Chart/ Sheana Stephen/ Stephanie Dees and Christopher Wood.Thursday 5th June 11am - 7pm Friday 6th June 11am - 7pm Saturday 7th June 11am - 5pm
Recent Fundraising EventsWits Dinner Prestonfield, Edinburgh 24th April 2008.An evening of humour, raconteur and WIT. After a reception drink followed by a sumptuous three course meal guests were treated to an exciting line up of speakers - Rachel Coul, John Chalmers, John O'Neill and Kenny Clark. This year's topic was "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" and after a close run vote the WIT's cup was awarded to Kenny Clark.The 2008 dinner raised in excess of £18,000 for St Columba's Hospice. This would not have been possible without the support of; Willie Hunter our chair and auctioneer for the evening; The Royal Bank of Scotland; James Thomson of Prestonfield; all our donors who contiributed elimination game, raffle and auction prizes and our table hosts and their generous guests who bid so charitably in our auction.
'BARK IN THE PARK''Sponsored Dog Walk Sunday 13th April 2008Inverleith Park
A big thank you to all our walkers who helped make this such a succesful event. The dogs looked very fetching in their St Columba's bandanas and we hope to have some "fashion" shots in our photo gallery soon. So far we have received over £2,500 in sponship for the event. Sponsorship from A1 Pets ,Dofos and Batchelor, Davidson and Watson Vetinary Surgeons ensures that all the money raised from the event goes directly to the Hospice. All remaining sponsorship money should be returned to the Hospice by 19th May. There is a £50 gift voucher for Dofos for the entrant with the most sponsorship. the winner will be announced after the 19th May.
2008 Burns Supper at the Edinburgh Corn ExchangeMany thanks to our speakers Margo MacDonald MSP, Roy Mack, Duncan Cameron, John Chalmers, Liz Chalmers and Tony Roper our "surprise" speaker who helped to make this sell out event such a success. Over 700 guests attended and enjoyed a traditional three course Burns Supper followed by a Ceilidh where they jigged away till the wee hours of 2am with the Da Hooley Ceilidh Band.

Light a LightThe lights on the Tree of Remembrance in Charlotte Square Gardens were switched on on Monday 3rd December 2007 by Council Leader Jenny Dawe. The appeal raised just over £50,000 for the Hospice. Many thanks to all those who contributed and to all our sponsors. |
