The operating cost of St. Columba’s for one minute is £11.61. That means that it costs in excess of £6 million to run the Hospice each year. To achieve this St Columba’s relies on a voluntary income of more than £3 million annually from our friends and supporters. These pages will tell you a bit more about how we pay for the services we provide at no cost to our patients, their families, friends and loved ones.
The money needed to run the Hospice is donated by people in the community who believe in what we do. Many volunteers plan their own activities to support us, while others challenge themselves to achieve new highs by running a marathon or walking a mile in support of the Hospice. Many people who know the Hospice well and believe in its work often leave us a lasting legacy gift in their Will.
Businesses who value and invest in their community also contribute by actively seeking to involve themselves and their staff in fundraising events. Trusts and grant giving bodies that understand the value of our compassionate and professional care are also essential champions of our work and provide vital financial support.
There are a hundred and one ways to support St Columba’s Hospice, from attending and participating in one of our Hospice planned events to donating through payroll giving.
