Meet the Team
 
Lesley Christie – Director of Fundraising
Lesley joined St Columba’s as Director of Fundraising with overall responsibility for all aspects of the Hospice fundraising activity, including strategic development of a Capital Campaign to support the rebuild of the Hospice. Coming originally from a buying and marketing background with organisations such as Wm Low & Co. and Asda, Lesley first made the move to fundraising for Children 1st in 1998 and latterly worked for Queen Margaret University where she headed the Development and Alumni Relations Office. On the subject of the Hospice, Lesley says, “St Columba’s Hospice is an amazing and inspiring place. The dedication and commitment of the staff is nothing short of awe inspiring and I feel privileged to be supporting the work of such a remarkable group of people”.

Mairi Rosko – Senior Fundraising Manager
Senior Fundraising Manager Mairi Rosko fronts the annual giving team at St. Columba’s Hospice, ably supported by Alison George and Maggie Grieve. With a journalistic background, Mairi likes words and uses many for the Hospice publications and newsletters, as well as standing up and speaking about the Hospice whenever possible. Mairi has worked for a variety of charitable organisations and brings a wealth of fundraising experience to the team.

Martin Lawlor – Campaign Fundraising Manager
Hailing from Cork in Ireland, Martin is a Marketing graduate turned fundraising enthusiast. After a stint in London with a Marketing Agency Martin moved to Edinburgh with a hunch that he would find the right place to be and he did! Martin is now the Campaign Fundraising Manager at St Columba’s and is managing the exciting rebuild fundraising appeal, working with Lesley and Darren.

Barbara Brockie – Trading Company Co-ordinator.
The Trading Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hospice and incorporates the Lottery, the Morningside Bookshop, the Iona Room shop and the online shop.
Barbara worked as a retail buyer for many years and now uses these skills to co-ordinate all aspects of these sales outlets including the sourcing of new products and overseeing book sales. Barbara also organises outside sales events, produces the Hospice calendar and Christmas brochure.

Maggie Grieve - Fundraiser
Maggie previously worked for an Edinburgh production company specialising in corporate event and video production.  As the Community and Events Fundraiser at the Hospice, she now puts her background to good use managing the Hospice's events and supporting all the wonderful individuals in the Edinburgh area who carry out all sorts of fundraising efforts on our behalf. Maggie also helps recruit new supporters and volunteers.

Darren Pike – Campaign Fundraising Assistant
A native Edinburgh boy, Darren has wandered far and wide and worn a variety of hats; St Andrews Graduate, High School History Teacher, Civil Servant and Children’s Book Expert. He now feels right at home, in Edinburgh and at St Columba’s Hospice. As well as supporting Martin and Lesley with the fundraising campaign for the new build, Darren considers he is also here to help fundraising at the Hospice in any way he can.

Alison George – Fundraising Administrator
Alison puts her print, design and project management experience to good use providing support for both the fundraising team and volunteers, managing guest lists, preparing mailing lists, dealing with suppliers and answering queries from friends and supporters and the general public.
