Staff, volunteers, patients and family members have said thank you to everyone who donated to the Light Up A Life 2016 appeal.
The Light Up A Life 2016 appeal, which raised over £110,000 for the Hospice, saw thousands of people make donations to the Hospice.
Donations were made by members of the public from all over the UK and even from countries across the world. Supporters made a donation to light up a light on our Tree of Remembrance, which stood proud in Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square Gardens.
The Light Up A Life 2016 appeal raised money for the Hospice to be able to provide extra special care and support over the festive period. Patients were able to enjoy mulled wine, homemade mince pies, decorations throughout the Hospice and special Christmas meals.
Jon Heggie, director of fundraising said: “Being part of our Light Up a Life event for the first time was a moving and inspiring experience. To see our tree in Charlotte Square Gardens being lit in front of thousands of supporters marked the start of Christmas in a very special way.
“I’d like to thank everyone who donated to our Light Up a Life 2016 appeal and everyone involved with the organisation of the event in December. We couldn’t provide our unique and vital services at our Hospice, and throughout our community across Edinburgh and the Lothians, without the support of the public, with this incredible Christmas appeal raising over £110,000 in 2016.”
