On Friday, 8th September, at the EICC in Edinburgh, Barratt’s East held their Charity Ball in aid of St Columba’s Hospice Care. The ball was a celebration of their partnership with the Hospice, which has been ongoing since August 2021.

Featuring an auction, a comedy performance from Larry Dean and live music from Manhattan, the event attracted over 500 attendees.

Over £100,000 was raised on the night, taking the total amount donated to over £250,000 in the last the last 25 months.

Jon Heggie, St Columba’s Hospice Care’s Director of Income Generation said;

“The ball was a fantastic event, and typified the attitude we’ve seen and enjoyed from Barratt’s over the course of our partnership. They’ve really pulled out all the stops to raise as much money as they can for us, as well as spending time here helping with recent ward renovations, and staff spending time here volunteering to paint some fences and maintain the grounds. The difference they’ve made to the Hospice as a Charity partner really is tangible, and will directly benefit hundreds of patients and their families right across Edinburgh and East Lothian. On behalf of everyone at the Hospice I’d like to say a massive thank you”.

Hospice Corporate Manager, Amanda Southey said;

“First and foremost I’d like to thank the team at Barratts for choosing St Columba’s Hospice Care as their Charity Partner! The partnership has worked really well, and I think both partied have really enjoyed it, and gained a lot from it. The fundraising they have done has been absolutely inspirational, and they’ve really jumped at the chance to help in other areas at every opportunity”.

The partnership, which began in August 2021, is due to come to an end in December, with the final amount raised to be confirmed at a later date.
