We're delighted to share information about forthcoming events run by North Berwick Health & Well-being Association’s Compassionate Community Project.

Kathryn Mannix & Richard Holloway: With the End in Mind

Pioneering palliative care doctor Kathryn Mannix is joined by writer, broadcaster and cleric Richard Holloway to discuss Kathryn’s book ‘With the End in Mind’ and to explore and challenge ideas about death and dying.

Our friends at North Berwick Health & Wellbeing Association’s Compassionate Community Project are hosting Kathryn and Richard in a seated event at the Belhaven Big Top on Thursday 12th August at 3pm.

Tickets are £7.50, available online by clicking on the link below, with proceeds going to St Columba's Hospice Care.

Lunchtime Book Club

The North Berwick Compassionate Community team are also offering an opportunity to meet and discuss themes from Kathryn's book prior to her talk, at a lunchtime book club on Monday 9th August. The discussion will take place at one of the Fringe by the Sea venues. 

Places are free but limited to 12 people, so if you are interested in attending, please email nbccinfo@eastlothian.gov.uk.

You will be sent a link to a ticket and will also receive a free copy of the book prior to the lunchtime book club event. 

About the author: Dr Kathryn Mannix has studied and practiced palliative care for thirty years, she interlinks her experiences as a care giver with those of her patients and families and reacquaints us with the universal, but deeply personal, process of dying.
