We hope our green fingered supporters will enjoy this fun virtual competition, a chance to show off your lock-down labour of love!

About this event

We are all so proud of the amazing grounds here at the Hospice. Billy, our gardener, works tirelessly to keep them looking so beautiful! During lock-down many people have found the time to tend to their outside spaces, or indoor plants, and we wanted to give you the chance to show off! What have you lovingly grown in your gardens, window boxes, allotments or houses during lock-down? We would love you to share your achievements and enter our Virtual Garden Show today.

Now open for entries! - UPDATE - event now closed for entries but you can view photos from all categories here: https://stcolumbashospice.org.uk/virtual-garden-show/

Choose which category or categories you wish to enter, buy your ticket(s) here and then send your photos to cbolt@stcolumbashospice.org.uk no later than 12pm on Friday 4th September.

Once the competition closes on 4th September, all photos will be uploaded to our Virtual Garden Show webpage and your hard work will be on display for a week from Monday 7th to Friday 11th September. We will share a link to the page with everyone taking part and via Facebook. A winner will be chosen from each category at the end of the week, by Billy, and will win a prize.

And the categories are...

Category 1 - Tooty Fruity - perfect pears, astounding apples, cheery cherries, stunning strawberries - or any delicious fruit you have grown

Category 2 - Village Show - worthy veg - tatties, carrots, broccoli, lettuce - anything earthy, delicious and ready for the pot

Category 3 - Wildlife! Do you have any animals inhabit your garden? Send us photos of your wild visitors.

Category 4 - Indoor Beauties and Window Boxes! What indoor potted plants or flowers have you lovingly tended to in your house?

Category 5 - Gorgeous Gardens – have you spent lock-down tending to your outside space – show off your hard work! From patios to ponds, from wild flowers to neat flower borders, show us what you've achieved!

Please note - You can enter as many categories as you like and as many photos of different things as you wish. For Categories 1 and 2, if you would like to send one photo containing a selection of fruit or vegetables, that's fine. If you just want to show off some rasps or some carrots, that is equally fine. We can't wait to see what you've grown!

Good Luck!
