Palliative Care Education

At St Columba's Hospice, we are committed to sharing knowledge and skills with professional colleagues.

In our excellent facilities, we offer a varied programme of educational activities relevant to all health professionals, whether providing generalist or specialist palliative care.

The evidence-based programme addresses all aspects of palliative care - physical, psychological, social and spiritual. This includes ethical issues for patients approaching the end of life and the development of communication skills for palliative care.

Medical students from Edinburgh University and nursing students from Queen Margaret University study palliative care at the Hospice. Students undertaking higher degrees are invited to use the specialist palliative care library by arrangement.

This part of the website is designed to help you find the right course to meet your needs.
