An Introduction to Palliative Care - A patient's journey

A Study Day for Nursing Auxiliaries, Health and Social Care Assistants and Support Workers.

This study day aims to facilitate carers in the development of skills which will enhance their delivery of palliative care to patients and their families experiencing a life threatening illness.

Each patient and family in palliative care is travelling a unique journey. This journey starts around the time when the patient learns of the life threatening illness. The journey may be long or relatively short. Some aspects of the journey are affected by the illness itself and others by the patient and family experience along the way. The study day will be held in St Columba's Hospice on:

Tuesday 7th October 2008 from 9.15 am to 4.00 pm. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.
