VolunteeringSt Columba's Hospice relies on the tireless efforts of some 500 volunteers whose contribution not only allows our clinical staff to further concentrate their efforts on caring - but also has a beneficial effect on our patients and their surroundings. There are, at times, new opportunities to volunteer with us. Current volunteer opportunities are: - NEW - We have 3 new vacancies in our Morningside Road based Bookshop - on Monday and Friday mornings and a Wednesday afternoon- call us on 551 7711 if you feel this may be of interest. - Coffee Team - support needed in one of our Coffee Rooms - every Tuesday and every 2nd Friday (both in the afternoon). - Fundraising - new volunteer Area Tin Collector required. Own car required and mileage expenses may be claimed - can you help? Please call 551 7711 for more information. - VOLUNTEER DRIVERS URGENTLY NEEDED - to take our Day Hospice patients either to or from their homes. Own car required. Mileage expenses may be claimed. Due to the expansion of our Volunteer Complementary Therapy Team , we are now looking to recruit new volunteers to join us. Are you qualified and experienced in two or more of these therapies?
Are you available on a Tuesday? (if you are interested but not available on a Tuesday we would still love to hear from you!!) . Experience of working with people with advanced illness is not essential as all therapies will take place after consultation with a trained nurse and full support will be given.
