2020 marks the 10th anniversary of our Celtic Challenge! To celebrate, we’re doing not one, but TWO great events through the year! The first will be the ten year anniversary Celtic Challenge, following our traditional route from Edinburgh to Iona in May. We are then taking our popular cycling challenge overseas to Normandy, France from the 23-27 September 2020.
If you’d like to sign up for both the Celtic Challenge and The Celtic Challenge Normandy (‘The Double’), the combined entry fees will be £390 or £290 for Early Bird Entry! There will also be a discounted joint fundraising target of £2800 covering both events.
The Celtic Challenge 2020
Ten years ago, we took the plunge and annonced a cycling pilgrimmage from our home on Boswall Road, to the birthplace of St Columba, 200 miles away on the beautiful isle of Iona. Every year since we have adventured out to Iona, enjoying some of the best scenery and cycling Scotland has to offer along the way.
This year, to celebrate the challenge turning ten, we are heading west-ward once more. This anniversary edition of the event looks to encapsulate the spirit of adventure which saw the first challengers head for Iona, whilst delivering a stunning cycle and a meaningful findraising opportunity to the participants. The route will progress through some of the most popular spots of previous rides, including the Arrochar Alps and the pass of Rest and Be Thankful.
Registration is £195 per person with a fundraising target of £1200, but sign up before the 30 September 2019 to take advantage of our early bird registration offer of £145!

The Celtic Challenge Normandy
Named one of the of the top regions in the world to visit by Lonely Planet this year, cycling is the best way to take in Normandy’s wild coastal landscape and sights. Your challenge will be to cover 200 miles in just 4 days from the historic port town of Cherbourg, to the small fishing port of Ouistreham in the heart of the landing beaches.
The terrain is varied and exciting, passing through lush countryside, quaint villages and serene sand dune beaches. Not to mention the tasty local cuisine, fine cider and historical sites!
