‘A once in a lifetime experience’
So you think you’re adventurous?
How does a 100km trek from the official home of Santa in to Finland’s Arctic Circle sound?
It may be hard to imagine how trekking 100km in sub-zero temperatures could constitute the best week of your life, but we think that when you have seen glistening snowdrifts, spent a night in the Arctic Snow Hotel, possibly seen the Northern Lights and perhaps even Mr Claus – you’ll understand how this is a once in a lifetime experience!
In March 2020 you could be taking on the Arctic Trek, arriving in Rovaniemi, Finland, and from there spending three days trekking 100km into the Arctic Circle. This is an amazing adventure and one which you don’t need any experience for either.
Ultimately though, it’s not the Gingerbread vodka that’s going to leave you with a warm glow (well not entirely) but the sense of achievement in travelling outside your comfort zone whilst raising money for your local Hospice. This is where you make friends for life, take home memories that no pictures can ever impart and can forever impress folk with “when I was in the Arctic……”
Before departure to Finland, we will help you with your training, with several briefing evenings, a structured training plan, a training weekend in Scotland, a night-time training walk, and training guides.
There’s no hiding from the fact this is a tough challenge, however with the right training and preparation, anyone can conquer the Arctic Trek.
To undertake the Arctic Trek, we ask that you raise a minimum of £3,800 in sponsorship for St Columba’s Hospice. Registration costs £350 and covers: return flights from Scotland, accommodation at the Arctic Snow Hotel, all meals on the trek, three information evenings, one training weekend and night walk, provision of tents and pulks (sledges) and your training guidance.
There are various payment options and as the trek will take place from 5 – 10 March 2020, there is plenty of time for you to pay for the trek and also achieve your fundraising target.

Go on… take on the Arctic Trek and make 2020 unforgettable!
