Hospice partnership with Macmillan to help patients and families

The Hospice is pleased to be partnering with Macmillan, to enable patients to access all the financial support they are eligible for.

Macmillan is a charity that supports people with cancer, however in the Hospice partnership  with Macmillan, their support and advice regarding benefits and financial support is available to all of the Hospice’s patients – whatever illness you have.

Hospice partnership with MacmillanThe benefits clinics take place in the Hospice on three days each month. The team from Macmillan is based in the Information Hub, near to the outpatients’ area and just around the corner from the Iona Café. The Macmillan team is also able to visit patients in the community through the support of our community nursing team. The team from Macmillan can speak with patients, family members and carers.

This lottery funded initiative will help patients, family members and carers access all of the financial support they may need. There is no charge for this service and all enquiries will be dealt with in complete confidence.

The Macmillan clinics have already started and will run throughout the year. The clinics are on different days each week so that all patients can see an advisor if they wish to. The Macmillan team will be at the Hospice on the following dates:

  • Thursday 27 April
  • Monday 1 May
  • Wednesday 10 May
  • Thursday 25 May

More dates will be confirmed in due course. For more information about the Hospice partnership with Macmillan, and the service Macmillan provides for benefits and financial support, visit the Macmillan website here or speak to a member of the Hospice team.
