As part of the Hospices’ Light Up A Life appeal, staff nurse Jacklyn Pollock has written a special poem for us. The poem captures what the appeal means to our supporters and was written in memory of Jacklyn’s Grandmother, and will touch the heart of many of our supporters.
Luminous Heart Resplendent
I carry the light of you in my heart,
I know we are truly never apart,
It’s warm and reassuring just like you,
I light a light to remember you,
A cheeky glint, a happy glow,
You warm the hearts of all you know,
I see you sparkle, I see you shine,
I know the brightest light is mine.
A beautiful tree to glimmer resplendent,
Your light hanging like a pendant,
Care, compassion, love and humanness,
Each soul represented, glowing luminous.
Staff Nurse, St Columba’s Hospice
The Hospice’s winter appeal raises money for us to provide care and support to patients and their families throughout the festive period. As part of the appeal, you can make a donation to the Hospice and a light will be lit on the Tree of Remembrance in honour of your loved one. You can find out more about the appeal here.
