At St Columba’s Hospice we care for over 1,100 patients every year.
Many patients are keen to share their stories about their experience of being a patient at St Columba’s Hospice, and we are incredibly grateful when patients want to do this.
Patients at the Hospice tell our story better than anyone else – they experience first hand the care, support and compassion that our staff and volunteers work so hard to delivery every day.
Our patients tell us that the Hospice is ‘confidence inspiring‘, ‘warm and supportive‘, with ‘amazing doctors‘ who give patients ‘security and confidence‘ in managing their pain and symptoms.
Patients also tell us that the Hospice has ‘wonderful kitchen staff‘, and an ‘amazing army of volunteers‘, and that the Hospice helps people to ‘overcome the fear of the unknown‘.
A lot of patients tell us that they look forward to coming in to the Hospice, particularly our day hospice patients, that their weekly visits are now a social occasion to see friends!
Ann, one of our day hospice patients, kindly agreed to take part in a film about the Hospice. You can watch the film below.
You can read stories from our patients by clicking on the images below, we hope you will find these stories reassuring, inspiring, sensitive and compassionate.
